The New 1920 - Self Titled EP [EP]

Debut EP'ing their catchy Rock athems into four tracks of toe-tapping contagious stuff are the The New 1920. By using solid drum beats and a grumpy bass guitar, these welsh lads certainly know how to kick up a stink. However a debut needs to be absolutely spanking to catch the ears of those NME lovers and this EP just seems to be average.

Opener 'Come Around' smashes into the speakers with a bass guitar style similar to Death From Above's - 'Blood On your Hands' without the disturbing angryness. Colin Francies takes the lead role and wips up some Vines/The Cribs style vocal genes. Everything fits into place with the tracks which is nice to hear, they seem comfortable and solid. The first three tunes have hard hitting, excitable attitude that pump the main vein of their sound that gives us a glimpse as to the forthcoming album. Not completely sure as to why a Live acoustic version of 'Keep On' is featured on the EP but it certainly shows of the lads as proper musicians unplugged. The start of 'Keep On' has some banter from the Welsh boys, which adds a charm to the record.

The 1920's stick to their guns throughout the EP and keep it solid and fully tarmac their foot in the door. They show potential to be another rock outfit for the masses.
