Kid606 - Shout At The Doner [Album]

Kid606 - Shout At The Doner [Album]

Very Friendly

Like a candy flipping club kid, I shat myself and hugged a stranger as the intro to "Shout At The Doner" began. Before "Mr. Wobbles Nightmare" I was all of the dancing fool my discotechque conception intended me to be. What can I say? I'm a sucker for glitch. A scratchy sample, distorted and reversed, rubs me just right. Break out your strobes and lock yourself in tight. Kid606 rocks the hardcore all over "Shout At The Doner". A more intelligent from American edm in years. Yes, I'm claiming Depredo for the states. He's ours!

Compelling samples lace "Shout At The Doner". Dig that Breeders spot on "Dancehall of the Dead". On "You all break my heart" Kid606 brings clever inspiration to a soulful vocal track. Followed by the joviality of the more industrial "Baltimorrow's Parties". There's a single for ya! BPM at like 120. That gabber drum in the last four seconds. I've always gotten down with the darker, heavier dance, and Kid606 always delivers.

Much more distorted than 2006's "Pretty Girls Make Raves", Kid606 takes a step back towards older, breakcore work. Around "Underwear Everywhere" you can feel a tainted pop ethic, both squealing and sweet. Kid606 is always experimenting with style and influence, and "Shout At The Doner" presents excellent glitch-house the whole family can get behind.
