Crazy Arm - Born To Ruin [Album]

Crazy Arm - Born To Ruin [Album]

Xtra Mile Recordings Ltd

After two of Plymouth's most popular punk bands Split in 2006, Crazy Arm arose from the ashes, bringing with them an insanely catchy album full of punk rock and even a hint of blue grass. This, amongst other reasons, is why Crazy Arm have become an increasingly popular band known for their musical versatility.

Born to ruin is fueled with energy from start to finish. This is definitely a must for Punk fans. Crazy Arm take it back to the stylings of Bouncing Souls and even Bad Religion. However, Trying to pigeonhole Crazy Arm into one musical genre isn’t as straight forward as that, there is a very strong indie element present in almost all songs on Born To Ruin, giving off more of a ‘pop’ sound to it at times. Crazy Arm posses a twangy sounding guitar tone that seem to accompany the raw vocals brilliantly, as well as relaxing melodies making their songs that much catchier.

Crazy Arm have definitely got a very distinct sound, there is no denying that for a second. One moment, you get political punk energy distorting your speakers, the next you find your self in a blissful country blues interlude. This is grass-roots political rock music at its finest, keeping you on your toes from one track to the next.

Although I say Crazy Arm have got their own sound, there doesn’t seem to be anything new here for the most part. You wont find anything on this album you wouldn’t expect to hear at a local rock gig, which in my honest opinion is quite refreshing what with all the manufactured and heavily computer based music that seems to be everywhere today.

If your looking for something new then you may find yourself having to look else where, however, if your looking for some old fashion punk rock music with a twist, then look no further, Crazy Arm definitely deliver the goods right here.
