The Blizzards - Buy It Sell It [Single]
 

The Irish music scene is a complete mystery to myself and probably 99% of the people reading this review right now. (Being very careful not to offend anyone here) the only Irish musical export that spring to mind are U2; yep Bono and his strange concept on spectacle apparel. The Blizzards however, make light work of the Indie Irish scene with nominations and wins for Oxygen Best Irish Live Performance's.

Maybe their wins in the live environment reflect their real talent, the 'Buy It Sell It' single however does not. 3 mins and 15 seconds of bland indie for your ears to munch on; no thanks.

Behind the mask of soft puppy dog vocals lies nothing new or worth listening too. The Blizzards can produce a well structured pop song no doubt, it just feels like there is no passion at all, just another generic indie track and that is all. This is the real shame as their stronger, more digressive songs are up on their music player, not in this single CD case where they should be.

There is absolutely no question as to Niall Breslin's lead vocal talent, the track is full of pitch perfect notes and lyrics popping up and down the musical scale. At moments the track has a Futurehead's feel, with backing vocals chanting "Buy it sell it, Buy It Sell it" in that 'Hounds Of Love' way.

Taking a reference from the title, don't buy it and then sell it, just skip buying it all together.
