Death On Two Wheels- Seperation Of Church and Fate [Album]
 

Death On Two Wheels are not what you'd expect them to be based on their band name (skate punk was my first thought especially since the album title is very similar to what a song title by NOFX might be). Prior to actually playing the CD and judging a book by it's cover I imagined my review would be me talking about the albums lyrics that would blatantly be about fighting the government and other cliché punk based lyrical content.

Imagine my surprise when I slipped the CD into the play when I heard a record that is inspired by the classic days of rock. Classic rock bands such as Deep Purple coupled with a mixture of Black Stone Cherry and Clutch giving it a really great sound and feeling and a cool mixture of classic and more modern based alt rock.

Trae's vocals are that of a man with a story to tell. The stories he does tell are mostly about life, partying and love with a voice that helps to clearly breakthrough the characters he portrays in his songs.

Death on Two Wheels musical influence also showcases a little bit of Blues and Southern Rock shining through the tracks of 'Shaking Like a Leaf', 'Hey Hey Hey' and 'Bobby Havis'. The solos are reminiscent of early Aerosmith and even during quiet moments like in 'A Song For Em' you can truly feel the spirit of the south shining through.

'Seperation of Church and Fate' as an album is a must for fans of Black Stone Cherry and any form of American Southern Rock for that matter with it's wild guitar, storytelling vocals and production that sounds loud and raw.

Hopefully 'Seperation of Church and Fate' will find it's way around the world to help grow Death on Two Wheels on a global scale so they can gradually build up a bigger fan base because if 'Seperation of Church and Fate' is anything to go by I sense a bright future for Death on Two Wheels.
