Australia has always been know for giving us such wonders as the alcoholic beverage that is Fosters and the late great and simply brilliant Steve Irwin. However, their most famous musical export seems to be Kylie Minogue, which, musically I’m sure, isn’t for everyone. Now, "the land down under’s" latest export, Closure in Moscow, seem to be giving ‘Aussie’ music a much-needed kick into the alternative side of life.

Closure in Moscow have been around for a short while now, have released a debut record on the Australian label Taperjean and have developed quite a following. Flash-forward to today and their success has shown no sign of slowing down. Since then, Closure in Moscow have been spotted and signed by the American label Equal Vision Records. Working with producer and engineer Kris Crummet (Coheed and Cambria), they bring to us ‘First Temple’, which, let me just say, is a musical gem packed with creativity.

This is the stuff that all rock albums should be made of. ‘First Temple’ comes jam packed with brilliant song writing which vocalists Christopher De Cinque and Mansur Zennelli deliver in some unusual and amazing ways; creating a perfect blend of harmonies and twisted lyrics. Not to mention that the guitar work on this release is nothing short of impressive, as they seem to transcend between ethnic/Indian mimicked stylings and insane metal riffs, the final result being an Emo/Melodic/Progressive rock monster.

Closure in Moscow are currently taking over the United States at a tremendous rate. Since the release of ‘First temple’ on a US label, they are currently relentlessly touring that side of the pond all year.

Even though they are not a house hold name here in the UK at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t become the next big thing in rock music both here and in the USA in the near future.
