Pigswear - Pigswear [Album] 1 Attachment(s) Pigswear. The very name prompts a multitude of questions such as “What the fuck kind of name is that for a band?” Yes, in a world where conventional monikers for musicians are no longer considered to be “cool,” even the name Pigswear causes one to stop in their tracks. Instantly, thoughts of an exclusive clothing line for swine come to mind, followed by that classic animated clip of Porky Pig hitting his thumb with a hammer and saying “son of a b-b-b-b-b…”. But aside from their dumb name and rather silly looks (see cover art above - particularly that guy on the left, who looks like a reject from the Gothic version of The Village People), the Danish group Pigswear sounds pretty good. Their music (while a bit on the repetitious side) has an enjoyable quality about it, while their lyrics (although slightly-more-than-vaguely-love-metal-ish) sound about what you’d expect from a European hard rock band. But, of course, that’s probably what I liked about this self-titled debut album which is a must better album than the band name and album cover might suggest that it is. I guess it goes to show you should never judge a book by it's cover. ![]() |
