Blame Bam Margera.

That's what haters of the gothic movement could probably say over the past few years as he single handily made HIM and bands of a similar ilk so popular in recent years via cameos in his TV shows and his cameos in the band's videos. A perfect amalgamation of mutual promotion, if you will. Why did he do it? Because Bam Margera felt truly touched by the music.

When it comes to The 69 Eyes however, the haters can just be ignored. Their newest, and 10th album 'Back in Blood' will be the one [after their recent festival appearances] to catapult The 69 Eyes far past the 'Bam Margera' tag (even if he is actually in the crowd!)

The 69 Eyes describe their sound as 'Goth 'n Roll' and with 'Back in Blood' there is never a truer band description given particularly showcased more so on tracks such as 'The Good, The Bad and The Undead' and the single 'Dead Girls are Easy' which both truly hail The 69 Eyes Goth 'n Roll sound. Gothic love is also prevalent on 'Back in Blood' [as always these days] on the majority of tracks which helps to give the album that nice balance of recent Gothic bands coupled nicely with the more classic side of Gothic music.

'Back In Blood' as an overall album is one for fans of The 69 Eyes and the Gothic genre and scene however 'Back in Blood' will also find The 69 Eyes forcing new fans to jump on board and to start loving the band (such as myself... surprised you there?!) .

'Back in Blood' is a welcome album that will allow you to delve into the darker side of your soul.

Hmm, I listened to this before I sent it off. Must say I'm not a fan, especially of the vocals, by the end I felt like I had listened to one big song. Was weird too cause by the look of it all I thought I would dig it.

hmm, yeah, I'm not sure about these guys either - I haven't heard this album, but I saw them open for Buckcherry a couple of weeks ago...and i wouldn't so much have called that set Goth as more Glam metal, and you're so right about the lead singer Chris, he was all a bit OTT. But maybe I should give this album a shot just in case...
