Fejd- Storm [Album]

Fejd are similar to another band from Norway that I recently reviewed here on Altsounds.com. The comparison band in question is Glittertind and the similarities are that firstly they're both folk Metal bands, secondly they only do songs in their native Norwegian tongue and thirdly the songs are about the history and heritage of Norway (at least I think so; finding info is very tricky; understanding them is even trickier!)

The difference between Fejd and Glittertind however is that Glittertind's style is much more 'We are Norway and we are happy to be so' both in the vocal style as well as the music being slightly regal in places. Fejd bring it down to earth in places (particularly the two opening tracks and the title track) to a more depressing level.

There are some tracks however such as 'Skuld', 'Avola Dansar', 'Egilis Polska' that do have more of an upbeat mood to them but not enough to make you start dancing like Turisas doing their cover of Boney M's 'Rasputin' (and to be honest few songs of a folk nature can, the exception probably being Korpiklanni).

Overall 'Storm' by Fejd is a very mixed bag and can be very hard to get into as it makes you change emotions quite frequently.

One for hardcore folk Metal lovers only.
