Sons Of Seasons seem to be a combination of symphonic and progressive Metal both combined together. Sons of Season hail from the land of Germany and was created out of very unlikely circumstances as during the formation the members at the time were in Blaze Bayley (Wolfsbane / Iron Maiden singer's) latest incarnation of a band and quit due to management issues.

As with any band though the lineup of Sons of Seasons even before this album (their debut) was released the lineup has changed. Where there was Luca Princiotta on guitar, Oliver Palotai and Daniel Schild on keyboards and drums along with Jurgen Steinmetz on bass and Tijs Vanesste on vocals it now only has Oliver and Daniel as founding members with Henning Basse being the new vocalist.

While it would have been interesting to hear how the original vocalist worked together with the original lineup the current lineup as it stands now holds up very well. 'Gods of Vermin' mixes the ideas Sons of Seasons have of progressive, symphonic and even jazz Metal. When an album starts with a piano intro you know how it is about to go!

For a debut, 'Gods of Vermin' is good and it will be very interesting to see how Sons of Seasons progress in the future. Therefore I will definitely be keeping one eye and ear open for Sons Of Seasons.
