Whisper in the Riot
Whispers in the Riot’s newest release is 4 songs of pure metal energy. Yes it really is as simple as that. The self titled EP shows just what these guys are made of thrusting complete and raw power through your ears from the very beginning and not letting up for a second, even if you are screaming.
The opening track on the album is very deceiving, giving a subtle and melodic guitar riff before quickly exploding into pure musical energy. Their heavy guitars lead by anthemic and dramatic vocals seem to provide a good blend of creative song writing coupled with pure emotion. Metal style guitar riffs driven by machine-gun like double kick drums are plentiful in Whisper in the Riots latest offering. This self titled EP is a collection of songs not unlike something Killswitch Engage would give us. Being a fan of Killswitch Engage myself I found Whispers in the Riot to be an enjoyable listen from start to finish. With their vocal styling tackling a wide range of issues from the personal, to the political it has resulted in each song containing different subjects from one song to the next, showing diverse songwriting skills.
Their aggressive tone doesn't set them apart from many of the heavier bands in the industry today, but 'Whispr in the Riot' is definitely a brilliant piece of work. Although this may not be for everyone, albeit, if you’re a fan of the lighter side of music then you will probably hate it in all honesty. 'Whisper in the Riot' is definitely a must for anyone who is a fan of the heavier arts.
If you’re into heavy metal and thrash, or even some of the heavier emo bands in the world right now, then this is a must own as you are going to find something worth your time on 'Whisper in the Riot'.
