A relatively established label is releasing a compilation volume of 12 inch vinyl. 4 of them to be exact, each featuring 4 artists. Dance to The Radio (
Dance To The Radio) has no less than 71 artists on their current roster, with such diverse names as “Snow White” to “You Slut!” and “

” to “Shut Your Eyes and You’ll Burst Into Flames”.
I am not so much of an expert of this label to enrich you lyrically about the diversity of their artist roster but if this EP is a taster of the labels diversity then I would say the label accepts all comers.
Suckers – 'It Gets Your Body Moving' opens the release very well. A Polyphonic Spree / Beta Band inspired opener that features a lovely brass section, a distorted and delayed guitar along with what is simply an inspired gospel choir / vocal harmony section. Very nice indeed, a stand out song and a band to watch out for in the future.
Track Two is straight up Rock music by 'Holy State'. Perhaps not reaching the heights of the opening track but able all the same, and yes there is a shouted vocal line for those of you that way inclined.
'Rainbow in the Dark' is a track by the much publicised and well respected Hip Hopper Das Rascist. 'Rainbow in The Dark' is a pretty cool song although not to be taken too seriously, much like the artists name. 'Rainbow in the Dark' could almost be described as TranceHop- if there is such a thing. With a basic hip hop beat underpinned by a very Trance influenced synthesizer line and some masterful lyrical flow. For example – “catch me solving mysteries like Wikipedia Brown.” Das Racist has a lovely soulful rapping voice that harks back to the early days of De La Soul– definitely one to watch and listen to for sure.
The EP closes with Bear Driver’s 'Mind Attack' which is straight up Indie Rock/ 'Mind Attack' has a nice bass line and some nice distorted guitar although the song is nothing amazingly ground breaking/ 'Mind Attack' is a solid effort nonetheless.
The EP as a whole is good. It is both diverse and interesting, with two stand out tracks that straddle a few genres. The two aforementioned stand out tracks 'Rainbow in the Dark' and 'It Gets Your Body Moving' are supported by two quite standard, yet strong songs – 'Mind Attack' and 'Jagged Lines'.
I am sure that the 12” inch will sell well in what is a declining musical marketplace. This alone says a lot really for the strength of the Dance to the Radio record label and particularly to the strength of the two stand out artists- Das Rascist and Suckers.
