Parkwright - Self-titled [EP] 1 Attachment(s) So Parkwright, what can I say to really describe this band? Parkwright seem to have that surfer vibe about them, but at the same time they lack the energy in their songs to really progress in this genre. Their self titled EP is very ‘samey’ all the way through. I’m not a huge fan of the sound of the album either, as it is not very well produced; the bass guitar peaks every so often causing it to ‘fuzz’. It’s very annoying and doesn’t make a very good impression, if I were an A&R guy listening to Parkwright, that alone would turn me off straight away. To get somewhere in the music business with your band, you need to have a good sound first and foremost. Maybe if Parkwright went to a better studio to record this EP they would be a lot more bearable to listen to. Saying that, producers can’t work miracles and the singers slightly irritating voice would come through regardless of the studio they had recorded in. The one track on this self titled EP which shines above all the rest is the last song, ‘All I Tried To Do’. Parkwright put a nice acoustic track at the end, which was a good choice and it’s by far the best song on the EP. I wouldn’t say it’s worth a good listen, but it’d be well suited to background music in a pub. ![]() |
