InMe have been kicking around for a while now (since I was in high school anyway) and have never really reached the creative and commercial peak they seemed destined for at the beginning of the noughties. If 'Single Of The Weak' (fucking awful pun by the way) is any indication, the world at large is better off without them. Seemingly abandoning their nu-grunge roots for a sickening combination of pop-punk, casio keyboards and embarrassing backing vocals is a move that I doubt will pay off. The song limps along like a dying cat and the middle 8 actually sounds like something you'd hear during the 'special stage' on a Sonic the Hedgehog game.
There is not one element of this song I could praise in good consciousness. It's just horrible, truly nasty, cynical and (most damning of all) instantly forgettable. The song might well be an ironic dig at the stagnant Radio 1 playlist, but by conforming to what they THINK the mainstream wants they have in fact turned in something so soulless, it would make a Calvin Harris single sound like 'Born To Run'.
The worst song I've heard this year....yes EVEN WORSE than Papa Roach.
