Paramore - Ignorance [Single]
 

Ignorance is one hell of a tune. I’ve been a fan of Paramore since their first album ‘All We Know Is Falling’ and they just keep making really good music! On top of this song being awesome, Hayley Williams [vocalist] is pretty damn sexy in the video for Ignorance (definitely one to check out in your own time).

I feel Paramore have a new ‘hard edge’ to them with this track, maybe it’s due to the fact that Hayley is dating Chad Gilbert of, Florida’s best answer to pop-punk, New Found Glory. Don’t get me wrong, it still sounds like Paramore and I’m not saying they’re ripping NFG off, but take a listen to the pre-chorus and tell me it doesn’t resemble a sound we heard on New Found Glory’s ‘Catalyst’ album.

Josh Farro and Taylor York have really done a nice job on the guitars on this track, as always, they’re catchy and different to your average pop-punk guitar riffs. As a guitarist I like bands that play, not too complicated, but rather exiting riffs. These are the best riffs when you start learning to play guitar it helps you to be able to play something which sounds amazing but in reality it’s fairly easy to play. This gives budding guitarists a new hope of learning guitar I think, it did for me anyway.

Paramore deserve a great deal of success as they are a really good band and they got this far so young! Ignorance is definitely worth your time, money and support, because there are fickle people in this world who will say Paramore ‘sold out’. Those people are slaves to trends and will hate anything popular, so do something good this year and kick them in the face by buying this track!

cheers chris, and paramore havent sold out, theyre still making the same music theyve always done, except are just gettin alot of airplay. people say the same for green day, but in reality theyve just got to a point in their career where they can write and play whatever they want, something which bands dont often get to do.
i personally dont think that selling out exists. id be more than happy to get that amount of airplay!

You're right, Green Day haven't sold out. Green Day have always had their place entertaining young folk, and fair enough. If anyone accuses them of selling out then they are wrong - what has actually happended is that person has matured.

I don't understand the whole "Sell-out" thing? Surely selling out is a good thing for the band?

It depends on what you mean by the term 'selling out'.

I think it bugs people because the band are so good they don't want
everyone liking them. Like imagine you found this amazing band and then you
see some bellend with their t-shirt on, how gutted would you be. I must say
I hate all the old band t-shirts around at the moment - I saw today: Led
Zeppelin, The Ramones, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Doors and not
one person wearing them listened to the band, you could just tell. What's
that all about?
