Bananarama - Love Comes [Single]
 

Who could ever forget Bananarama eh? Well, not so much the music of Bananarama, but more their name. But, much like all of the other (surviving) 80s pop icons, Bananarama is making a comeback. Or rather, they are trying to make a comeback. Apparently, they’ve been attempting to do so for quite some time, although nobody informed me.

While some may argue that this still is not the original Bananarama line-up: the group consists of only two founding members (Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin), while the third original member (Siobhan Fahey) is (apparently) still working on her as-yet-unreleased solo album off the ground.

The latest Bananarama single, 'Love Comes,' is a very bouncy and uppity pop / disco / house / dance / techno (call it what you will -- it all depends from whence you came) tune that gets the feet-a-tappin.’ So much so, that the CD single of 'Love Comes' leaves you craving more. Sadly, the single I received contained the title track and nothing more -- which had me reflecting on those not-too-terribly-distant days when vinyl singles came with something we called a ‘B-Side’ -- but the more “official” CD single is reported to contain the girls’ cover of Bryan Adams’ 'Run To You.'

If 'Love Comes' is any indication of what the full-length album, Viva is like, than I am definitely all for it (another of the three covers on the album will include iiO’s 'Rapture,' which is a favourite of mine). Sure, there's nothing to this song, but the beat and sound is damn perfect for the dance floor. Plus, the lyrics are simplistic and forgettable enough that you won’t try to find any hidden meaning while you’re struttin’ your stuff.

Ah Bananarama. This brings back memories. Sounds like this new track is quite good too! By good I just mean fun pop music.

It might be hard for Milli Vanilli to make a comeback, seeing as how one of the frontmen died over a decade ago. Granted, he wasn't one of the singers, so they could easily replace him with a lookalike.
