The gap between superstar DJ and software geek seems to narrow every year: Toronto's Joel Zimmerman may now be one of the planet's premier crossover techno artists, but his roots lie in tweaking 8-bit programs and doubtless staying up way after bedtime.

For a change however the hype is well deserved. With a bunch of top quality mind and floor fuckers already in the bag - let's hear it for Not Exactly, Faxing Berlin and the ear bleeding Ghosts n' Stuff - Mr.Z has been shredding turntables and sucker DJ's since like, forever.

Attention Whore carries on almost directly from Hey Baby, his last collaboration with Melleefresh, in that the lyrics are a bit like a story from the readers letters section of Razzle to a 140ish beat. This time Ms.Fresh keeps her clothes on, although she still "Goes for days", but hey let's be real here, it's all been done before - and better - by The Hacker & Miss Kittin.

Presumably though the sixty year old blokes who like to hear this stuff whilst having clothes pegs attached to their nipples would get off even more if they knew that the singer did the voice for Cheer in the fucking Care Bears. No, no shit.
