The Black Dahlia Murder - Deflorate [Album] The Black Dahlia Murder has long held a pole position amongst American Death Metal and “Deflorate” once again shows us why. Heavy and brutal as always, “Deflorate” cracks your spine and rends your flesh with every track. Strnad’s vocals can invoke imagery of pain and mutilation, while Eschbach and rookie Knight drive their wicked guitar riffs through the listener’s cranium. “Deflorate” brings us the tales of zombies and monstrosities from The Black Dahlia Murder that we’ve come to love. “Necropolis” tells of the impending zombie apocalypse, and delivers a groove driven ¾ time stomp. In “A Selection Unnatural” Strnad takes us on the journey of a genetic abomination kept imprisoned for scientific experimentation. Quote:
Man, I do love me a side of uber geek with my metal! I’ll be honest. I can’t get enough of it. Some brutal and neck cracking rhythms and a vocalist who’s probably got a comic collection to rival my own, it always does it for me. I giggle, I mosh, I feel good about the world in general. The Black Dahlia Murder has never failed to please my inner metal nerd, and “Deflorate” is certainly no exception. |
