Bashy - Your Wish Is My Command (feat H-Boogie)[Single] 1 Attachment(s) Bashy, otherwise known as Ashley Thomas, is a former bus driver, and one of London’s underground Grime scene's undoubted crossover to the mainstream success stories. Not only is Bashy a rising Grime/Pop star, he is also a critically acclaimed Shakespearean actor. All this at a mere twenty three years old! Bashy has already touched some of the stars of the Pop world (not in an illegal way) with Simon Cowell dubbing him as “likeable” and Damon Albarn of Blur being so affected by the London Boys talent that he shipped him off to Nigeria to help record the “Africa Express” album. Bashy learned his trade in the underground London rap battling scene and his lyrical flow and wordplay is evident on 'Your Wish is My Command.' 'Your Wish is My Command' has Pop written all over it, with spoonfuls of Soul, Funk, Disco and Hip Hop. The effect is slightly absorbing and definitely catchy, and the deep emotive singing of “H-Boogie” is certainly a cherry pleaser. 'Your Wish is My Command' is a single taken from Bashy’s upcoming debut album "Catch Me if You Can," and sets the stall out for Bashy being a purveyor of light and funky Pop music. Perhaps this sound is a far cry away from the underground London street rap battles, but I am sure this adopted style will bring a bit more airplay, and certainly more cross genre appeal to Bashy. 'Your Wish is My Command' is a Pop single that has been released with a flashback to the past. Not only is 'Your Wish is My Command' a huge ode to the disco and funk scenes of the 70’s, gone is the CD awash with remixes, to leave only a radio edit, an instrumental and the accapella. On the “instrumental” we can see why the song is so “fruity” and on the “accapella” we can evidently see that the combination of Bashys simple yet slick word-smithery with the electric smooth funk of “H-Boogie” leads to a single that is sure to get a mass of airplay. Bashy is an artist made slightly in the mould of “Dizzee Rascal” and “N-Dubz”, a heavy UK accent rapping over decidedly dancey beats and synths. Yes, Bashy is going to be a star, if not already, and yes, I do somewhat like this track. Not overly sure why, I guess its just that Disco fever. ![]() |
Re: Bashy - Your Wish Is My Command (feat H-Boogie)[Single] Stil can't get into the grime scene. Not my thing at all. |
Re: Bashy - Your Wish Is My Command (feat H-Boogie)[Single] Check out his tune 'Black Boys' on his Myspace. Slighty contraversial. |
Why is it controversial? |
Re: Bashy - Your Wish Is My Command (feat H-Boogie)[Single] In my opinion it's racist. There is no way if you swapped the "Black man" to "White Man" throughout the lyrics in the song, that it would get airplay. It would be considered as pushing racial hatred. |
Re: Bashy - Your Wish Is My Command (feat H-Boogie)[Single] You should do your own version "White Boyz" Jack. See how far you can take it. In seriousness I just read the lyrics and I wouldn't consider it racist it's just bigging up his fellow black peers pretty much and how proud he is to be a black boy. |

Ironically if I remember Bashy had released due to it being the Black History month over here (October) |
