Self-Released
Nashville based band Shirock are making a big name for themselves with their debut album "Everything Burns." Shirock didn’t stop at self-releasing their album, the band also created a non-profit organization that shares its name with their first full length album, "Everything Burns." The non-profit organization is there to encourage and help people get involved in making a difference, "Living for Things That Matter." Shirock donated 100% of the profits from their tour supporting their new album to the Everything Burns foundation, and at every stop on the tour Shirock teamed up with local charities to help out.
Shirock have not taken a breather since they made their entrance in the music scene. "Everything Burns" is an album full of deep lyrics and a plethora of songs that could be the new anthem for change. "Everything Burns" is filled with beautiful melodies and a dominant keyboard. Namesake and vocalist, Chuck Shirock fills the songs by belting out lyrics, powerful in more ways than you can shake a stick at. Chuck Shirock believes “So much music these days is just noise. It’s about sharing our lives and connecting with people through music.”
"Everything Burns" is a skillfully made album that is not just first-class lyrics or superior beats and rhythms, it has both, an uncommon trait these days in the music industry. The lyrical content of this album is just oozing with passionate optimism and the desperate hope for change. The opening song “New Solution,” has lyrics that look forward to change, “How long will I run until the morning comes / I’ll hold on for a new solution / I’ll hold on for a revolution…”
Shirock has been compared to the likes of U2, but with an attractive tenor/soprano harmony. The delicate keyboard weaves its way throughout the album, bringing along comparisons to Coldplay and other great acts. Some of Shirock’s songs have been played on MTV and other networks like NBC. Shirock have been making a name for themselves everywhere and they urge everyone to use their time wisely. I suggest you listen to them and go buy this album.
