"Hello young lovers [How does it feel?] / To pick us up throw us away,” are the opening lyrics to the opening track of debut album, "The Way To Save Ourselves," by the young and promising band, None The Less. None The Less are a relatively new band hailing from Watford, England. None The Less were nominated for “Best Unsigned Band” by Kerrang! magazine and "The Way to Save Ourselves" is an album full of meaningful lyrics and tight instruments.

The opening track “The Payout,” has an alt-metal sound with a bouncy rhythm. The screaming ability of vocalist Anthony Giannoccini is apparent throughout the whole album. "The Way To Save Ourselves" is overflowing with such a tight instrumental sound that it is hard to forget the precision and complexity of it. The second song off the album “Define,” has a solid and a nicely put together sound. The track, “News of Cancer,” is crammed to bursting with personal lyrics that many people could easily relate to. The sound of None The Less can be described as a sweet mix of metal with a dash of hardcore punk rearing its head every so often.

None The Less were originally formed in 2007 by Anthony Giannoccini, Owen Harvey [backup vocals, guitar], and Oli Stanton [bass guitar]. Since then, they have added two members, Joe Page [backing vocals, guitar] and Mike Smith [drummer]. Track number four gives a break to the heavy sound but not to the heavy lyrics. Track four “…” supplies the listener with acoustic relief for a brief one minute and twenty seconds. No worries though, None The Less get back to familiar territory for the rest of the album after this brief intermission.

None The Less have been heating up the magazines, receiving a slew of positive reviews from a wide variety of critics. Personally, None The Less sound like a more polished version of early 2000’s nu-metal bands. None The Less have been going far very fast and they don’t appear to have any plans of slowing down anytime soon.
