Hardcore/Pop-punk is a genre that most of us are all too familiar with nowadays. With bands like Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals and even New Found Glory it’s hard to ignore this genre. Although Syracuse Me doesn’t have the greatest vocalist in the world, the songs are still pretty damn rockin’. The first track 'All The Way With Stephanie K' is a great opener for the EP, it sets you up for a dangerous dose of hardcore which will have you windmilling in your bedroom!

Musically "Out With The Old, In With The Dudes" is great for this genre, but can sometimes be predictable in parts. As with most Hardcore / Pop-punk bands it is imperative that you have a very good drummer, and Syracuse Me have that ‘very good good drummer,’ and I take my hat off to him. I pretty much got what I expected when I listened to the guitars; heavy beatdown rhythms, the odd pinched harmonic and enough octaves to scale a grand piano. I’m not complaining about it, far from it, I love it!

Going back to the vocals, although you don’t need a great deal of tuning in this particular genre it’s always nice to hear an in-tune voice every now and then. On the majority of "Out With The Old, In With The Dudes," the Syracuse Me vocalist was just too out of tune to bare in parts so I think if they had another vocalist that could shout in tune that Syracuse Me would be a force to be reckoned with. His voice actually reminds me of ‘the tourettes guy’ (RIP) that used to be on Youtube about 1 or 2 years ago, this did make me laugh when I realised who he reminded me of, just check out Youtube for yourself and you’ll see what I mean.

So if you’re a fan of Hardcore or Pup Punk for that matter in any way, I would tell you to buy "Out With The Old, In With The Dudes" as it is a body mover and a great workout CD for the gym.
