The Stupids - The Kids Don't Like It [Album] 1 Attachment(s) Now, this is an easy review for a change! The Stupids are back after 21 years. If you are an old fart like me, you’ll welcome back their straight, fast, no frills punk; if you are young enough to think The Ramones are nothing but a Topshop t-shirt design, you may be forgiven for thinking what’s screaming from your speakers is a bunch of overexcited kids. “The Kids Don’t Like It” is high quality noise. Top mosh pit material from a band that was one of John Peel’s favourite ska-punk acts, how about that for a reference? Musically faster and even more basic than The Ramones, lyrically as serious as the Toy Dolls, you’ll either love The Stupids or hate them. If you’re looking for quality musicianship and virtuoso riffs, steer away from The Stupids as you won’t be interested in them and I don’t think they’ll be interested in your support either! But if you’re looking for fast, loud and dangerous music, “The Kids Don’t Like It” is your new favourite record. Listen to this on a high speed train, at maximum volume, with your eyes shut. It’s the closest you will get to the feeling of a spectacular crash without actually getting hurt. I don’t normally include the complete track list, but this one deserves the honour: 1. Malcom Bitch 2. Drumshop Arsehole 3. I Was Sexually Harassed 4. Remember Me Dismember You 5. Feel The Suck 6. Charlton Heston 7. Beach Dick 8. Middle Aged Punk 9. It’s Not My Fault 10. Melt me 11. Hate Hate 12. God & Country 13. Fragmented Interaction 14. Zero 15. Sons Of The Beach 16. Shagga My personal favourite: ‘Remember Me Dismember You.’ This Middle Aged Punk is off to check The Stupids’ gig list and get the big boots out of the loft... ![]() |
Re: The Stupids - The Kids Don't Like It [Album] I thought this might be right up your street. As good as the old material? |
Re: The Stupids - The Kids Don't Like It [Album] I reckon it is. Some might say that they didn't add anything new to the equation, but then again why should they? Some things are good just as they are... |
