GraVil - The Age Of Corruption [EP]

GraVil - The Age Of Corruption [EP]

Bitter To The Core Records

GraVil is a two-piece metal act, comprising of vocalist Gra and multi-instrumentalist Vil. "The Age Of Corruption" is the second EP from the duo and features five tracks of black / death edged heavy metal. The production on "The Age Of Corruption" is pretty good, with the vocals coming through very well and the clarity in the riffs being retained throughout.

The vocal range is between mid range screams and low death-ish growls. The guitar riffs have quite a thrash element to them and have a nice driving feel that helps to push the songs forward. Within the sound you can hear elements of Chimaira, Pantera, The Haunted and many others. GraVil are particularly hard to put into a genre or category of sound, and I am quite pushed to say they are "original".

"The Age Of Corruption" is at it’s best in it’s more melodic moments and has more lead riff parts, like the tapping riff in the chorus in ‘Bottle Of Shadows,’ which I rate to be the best track on the release due to it’s dynamics and various technical elements; a slow start, a melodic chorus and a blistering solo.

GraVil show that they have a great technical ability and are very capable of putting together a good track. Lets hope that they can deliver on a larger scale when they put together their first full length.
