Grime goes glam with the release of “United Colours of Beggatron.” This time around Foreign Beggars have dropped a much more polished recording than their previous efforts. With a higher production quality, some soulful backing vocals, and a slew of collaborative MC’s, Foreign Beggars have a very ambitious album with “United Colours of Beggatron.” This isn’t to say that the gritty sound we’ve come to love isn’t still here. Tracks like 'Keep it Comin' and 'Don’t Dhoow It' will still give you your grimy kicks. However, some natural growth can be expected, and indeed has occurred.

Listening to the single cuts, 'Contact,' and 'Shake it' I can see a departure point. These two tracks, both radio friendly and still a little weird and could easily be heard on the Top 40. Why not? There’s a certain amount of clean here.

The dubstep of 'Shake it' counters the brag and boast of 'Contact,' sure, but it still maintains a lighter touch. A friendlier potential. The crazy still hits on tracks like 'Asylum Bound' and 'No More.' That skuzzy, lo-fi sound is present, but the equipment for its creation is of a higher quality.

Foreign Beggars are flying high. With more accolades and awards than you can shake a ho at, and an impressive body of work behind them, the future is nought but champagne wishes and caviare dreams. With “United Colours of Beggatron,” Foreign Beggars have their most polished grime record yet. Their muse still spitting, their rhymes still killing.

I must say that the album artwork on this is pretty legendary!
