Fight Like Apes - Lend Me Your Face (80KIDZ REMIX) [Single]

Oh wow, another electro remix of a mediocre song about modern popular culture. Fight Like Apes are a female-fronted band from Dublin. The 80KIDZ remix of 'Lend Me Your Face' sounds like a track by The Teenagers fronted by the singer from Black Kids. It’s really quite irritating, as the words “Lend Me Your Face” are repeated over and over again. It is head-exploding irritating.
The second track is called 'Do You Karate?' I know I don’t. I think I don’t, maybe it’s a euphemism for something else? Again, annoying track. The singers voice is OK, the band are also alright but there is nothing new and distinct about Fight Like Apes. They’re probably quite fun to see live (after a few piss beverages [a friend just back from Australia said they call alcohol “piss” down under. Confusing, I know] you could quite happily dance). The singer has sass, however, she sings like Juliette Lewis and Hayley from Paramore, who are both very American. It’s tremendously irritating when non-Americans sing with an American accent - dontcha think?
The CD “single” is the 80KIDZ remix of 'Lend Me Your Face' - full track and radio edit, of which there is hardly any difference. It is also 'Do You Karate?' Radio Version and album version. Again, hardly any difference.
The conclusion is, this remix is going to make no mark on the musical map in any way, shape or form. It is mediocrity at it’s best. Gareth Gates eat your heart out!
