Nervous Records
Woah. Seven different mixes of 'Come Back' on this release. Looks like someone wasn't sure what was working out best and just threw it all in there. OR Nervous Records are providing value for money. Depending on your levels of cynicism...
Based on what must be a precarious template, legally speaking, the tune is, shall we say 'reminiscent' of Inner City's 'Good Life'. It's not as good either but the feature track, remixed by House legend Frankie Knuckles along with Eric Kupper's 'Director's Cut Radio Mix' (bit of a mouthful there) is both lively and fun. Sophia's vocals are bright and ballsy and the beats are crisp and clear - it's your basic crowd pleasing commercial house track.
The plethora of other mixes provided by Sunfreakz and Digital Dog take us on a spin around pretty much every style of house going from funky in the Sunfreakz radio mix to a more ambient vibe in Digital Dog's club mix radio edit and on into a tech feel on the fourth, then some deep house come track six and well, you get the picture.
Basically it's all solid stuff, if not exactly mind blowing, so if you've got this in your record bag then you're unlikely to suffer any floor clearance calamities - stick it on with pride.
