Most audiences in the UK are none the wiser about Aussie songstress Sarah Blasko. Ironically she has released three albums and won multiple awards in her home country. Luckily the time for change has arrived and Blasko is now set to release her début UK single, ‘We Won’t Run’.

Sarah Blasko’s music combines the beauty of Regina Spektor style Pop music with the musical talents of artists like Laura Marling or Florence and the Machine. Personally I cannot get enough of Sarah Blasko, so let’s hope The UK and Europe feel the same way!

‘We Won’t Run’ is the first single from the album "As Day Follows Night" and more than justifies Blasko’s success so far. The track opens with earthy drumming and Sarah’s raw, yet beautiful vocals. This track is far from simplistic though as it soon progresses into an intricate layering of strings and drums with flawless vocals and gentle piano melodies. The lyrics create an empowering image of Sarah; she declares “we won’t run, we can fight”. One can only hope she stands true to her reputation.
