They’d slap your face, spin quickly on their TopShop stiletto and leave you in a whirlwind of cheap perfume and glitter. Well quite frankly love, you like vampires, it’s not a new thing, so technically you appreciate Gothic supernatural beings.

Marla’s treacle-like vocals accompanied to the tinkling of the ivory keys addresses this teenage phenomenon. Her tounge-in-cheek lyrics enhances this little treat of a single, adding a deeper, darker side to the whole I’m-a-teenage-girl-so-I-want-to-be-in-a-relationship-with-a-vampire craze that seemed to have swept the entire nation. Marla narrates this typical 15 year old girl story, how she becomes sexually active and has grown up far too quickly. This track is seriously easy to relate to as everyone knows a girl like this.


This song definitely will reverberate around your skull for a while after you’ve listened to it, the simplistic and infectious melody skipping from your brain into your voice box without you even realizing. Although this single is just a… well, single. You just get a snippet of Marla’s ability, but I am confident that this sweet as cheery pie singer has a glamorous career in front of her. All I can say I want after listening to Lipstick for a Vampire is more, more, more!
