Tango In The Attic also known as Jordan Craig (vocals / guitar), Jonathan McFarlane (guitar), James Crook (bass) and Paul Johnson (drums), from Glenrothes, Fife have their second album Sellotape being released May 28th.

This new offering has already seen two single released as a little pre-cursor 'Paw Prints' set loose in March had the guys show their loud loud loud side, a raw lo-fi recording, sounding like a one-take capture. Still somehow exuding acres of pop mastery with it though. That takes skill.

The beginning of May saw 'Mona Lisa Overdrive' unleashed. Another Alt-Pop dream of a release. Kicking off with a deep bass intro that keeps the four strings pounding in the background throughout, stoner-indie 'shape pulling' drum patterns with added layers of math rock angular guitar riffs and vocals submerged in reverb all makes for a master class in new scot rock.

So it comes as a real bonus after these two teasers for the full length, that we are given, yes given a free download from the guys. Well, the guys and a whole lot of input from Inspired Flight aka San Diegans? San Diegoans? San Diegons? (thanks Anchorman! The mere mention of that city sets the movie quote machine turning in my mind!)

The Channel 4 news team show their feelings for the remix

Right where was I, oh yes, Inspired Flight are San Diego (“A whales vagina...”) Damn it! Ahem, they are a duo from the above named city an d according to their Bio are 'Rooted in hip-hop with branches of indie rock, electronica, downtempo, dub, and dance' Those roots have served the duo (OpenOptics & Chavez) well, when cutting up Tango's 'Easybones'.

They have taken the Lo-Fi Alt-Pop, twisted it, swirled it, bassed it and echoed it into part sublime chill-step, part low end bass heavy party starter. Infectious bassline rumble below an echo laced vocal reverb while swirling liquid synthetic notes splash around. It makes for the perfect 'windows down/audio up' cruising tune for sticky summer nights.
