Who exactly is Gobby? For fans of techno/house, please look no further. The member of NYC illuminati, producer and techno/house provocateur has released an E.P this week, titled New Hat. Opening this four track cacophony of juke’d pop hits is 'Viewing HRS (ZZZ)': seven minutes of glitching beats, laced with flirts of techno that seem to return again in follow up track 'Seagate', which steadily throbs among broken rhythms.

'Blankface' is interspersed with audio-bits, screaming like an alarm clock infused with yappy techno and funk, while '/U\'seems to build to a drop that simply doesn’t exist, catching at the last minuteand turning into something new.

Hailed as being one of the heaviest techno journeys you'll hear this year, New Hat represents Gobby from the past, exploring new territory, combined with a lot of dance floor re-imagining.

New Hat is available now on UNO NYC.
