Now a two-piece, New York dreampop band School of Seven Bells consists of guitarist Benjamin Curtis and guitarist/vocalist Alejandra Deheza. They were accompanied on stage by a drummer and keyboard player. The set was made up predominantly of songs from current album Ghostory, with a couple from each of their two earlier albums Alpinisms and Disconnect From Desire. The set was performed under strong red lights (which made photographing difficult!). Whilst Benjamin’s guitar playing and twiddling-knob wizardry created the all round deep and complex sound, it was Alejandra’s ethereal vocals that captivated the crowd.
