Horse the Band - The Mechanical Hand [album]
 

Take equal parts Dillenger Escape Plan, a Nintendo-fueled childhood, add some silliness, and some more chaotic hardcore undertones and you have the latest offering from HORSE The Band...while this is a great follow-up to R.BORLAX (on Pluto Records...check it), it is more of the same geek-filled hardcore that made the band one to watch for this year...speaking of which COMBAT RECORDS, a seminal label from the 80's has returned (courtesy of KOCH RECORDS) has now determined to take a more experimental style of hardcore (thus far)...now back to Horse...these guys make fun music, and it IS danceable, but more to be a goof too. Not really breaking away from a good formula from the previous record, and not really advancing all the much...this time, the biggest changes are MORE FAST PARTS, BETTER BREAKDOWNS, and just better organization of the instruments, just a more (dare I say....) mature record...actually a good cd, so if ya liked the old one, or just want something new and really fun, give this a chance.
