NC has been a hotbed of musical activity, and no one can figure out why, I say who cares...QUELL is like a more southern Dillenger, but the comparisons only work in the tech-metal sense of the band...now, I have seen them twice, once at MACRock, and once at pizza place in Wilmington NC with Arson/Set Ablaze/Dark Day Dawning.... now they are very technical, very angular with the guitar work...its Dillenger meets Zao meets early Scarlet (and to some extent Shogun) if you ask me...vocally very raspy and scary, and well its all over the place musically...its is really chaos well-orchestrated...it has melody, and thrash, breakdowns, and tech part on top of tech part all tastefully done...its worth checking out...very young and very talented, congrats guys.
