If there was EVER a band that took hardcore in a new direction in the last few years, it is Iowa's MLIW. THIS IS NOT BRUTAL MOSHMETAL, THIS IS NOT STRAIGHTFORWARD HARDCORE, this is a new take on it...It is just driving hardcore you need to experience for yourself...The closest I can compare it too is Krakatoa meets Mouthpiece meets...well...I don’t know, that’s what I hear from this new release. The record seems like a concept record, dealing with depression and going nowhere and revenge. The choruses are not too ample, but that makes the structure more free-flowing, to let the story of living in the small town seem just like a REAL story...I cannot really describe this CD, it is beyond words when looking for a good comparison, sooooo do yourself a favor, get this cd, check them out live, and get those fingers pointing again.
