Yes, that is an apt and smart-assed way to describe this release. First Blood started a few years ago, and lo and behold, some touring here and there, some good song-writing, and now on the Trustkill Family (alongside former bandmates and friends Terror, which vocalist Carl played bass for, if you didn’t know) Killafornia was released upon the scared masses.

This is an example of a good band releasing a GREAT first album. Vocally, Carl sounds a little like another Karl from a lil band called Earth Crisis. With that aside, this record is fast, brutal, and very dance-floor ready.

There are some political undertones to this record (see the song First Blood, Conspiracy, Victim, Conflict), but don’t let that turn you off. As a matter of fact, the sheer vagueness of some of the lyrics make them that much BETTER, and not preachy to shove down your throat. Another thing I really liked about this was the re-recording of the “demo”/EP tracks Suffocate and Unbroken. Well played gentlemen, well played.

Oh, before I forget, XDOANEX put a live set on the record (it doesn’t play on this pc, boohoo, but I can imagine it to be a lot of fun) for your viewing enjoyment.

While this type of hardcore is not the hardest to play, it does what it does, gets in, gets out, and gets the job done...sort of like Rambo…hhhmmmm…regardless of my bad jokes, this is a great release, keep it up.
