WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW. Holy not sucking and being whiny Batman. This is Thursdays’ most cathartic and chaotic (in their own way) release to date.

While “War All The Time” may have been extremely political, this is extremely PERSONAL. Sure, there are political undertones, or maybe not, I am not in the mood to discuss every last line from the record, that’s what messageboards are for.

The sound for this release is mightily expanded, the keys are done and flesh out the sounds, Geoff’s vocals are now more in tune with the music, the guitars and drumming are more than exceptional. While there are people who get paid more to write about the “it bands” of an given time, Thursday, while in that category have never disappointed me in a release.

The melancholic melodies and swirling of the guitars flesh out parts to add a sense of emotional chaos, and like I said, Geoff sounds like he has come into his own vocally. This is not screamo, emo, (this is closer to later work of The Cure, hell even some New Order and Placebo may be apt, with the stylings of Thursdays already progressive sound)or whatever sub-genre this band has been shoved into. Thursday wrote and honest record, and with that, this review of a great release is over. Get into it.

9/10
