Angelville – We Are the Wolves

If you are going to name yourself something from Preacher, you had better be some real bad-asses to back it up.
Now on the previous release by Angelville ("Can’t Go Home"), the style has changed, and hell, even for the better. Gone is the “youth-crew” sound, gone is the fast drumming, gone is the traditional hardcore sound this Indiana band has. What has come back is a very dark, and very dirty rock n’ roll sound that when mixed with mid-paced hardcore (think Bars meets Hope Conspiracy) and some very guttural, growling, yet (mostly) understandable vocals.
From this CD’s intro of dirty as hell southern guitar picking, to the closer of "Not Enough Gun", this record shines as a testament of a band that changed it sound, not for better or worse, but for the fact they did it so well. And while some people may call it an Every Time I Die rip-off, or whatever the damn messageboards say, Angelville is a kick in the teeth of dirty rock and spinkick of mid-paced hardcore.
The sound is unique, hell, the NAME of the band is unique in its own right. The best way to sum up this record is the soundtrack to brawl in a biker bar. How you like them apples Rolling Stone??? Get into this record.
