NCs math metal wizards return with a new slab of covers???
Yep, thats right, an entire record of the most eclectic assortment of covers assembled by this progressive metal band. I typically do not like cover records, it just seems to spark an age old debate, of is the original or the cover better, and I for one dont feel like getting into that right now.
I will keep this short and sweet, so YOU can make up your own mind about this. BTBAM release this with covers ranging from Smashing Pumpkins, Earth Crisis, Queen, Metallica, and many, many others. While there is no real stand out track on this record, it is nice to see a band paying homage to all the music that helped inspire them.
Cover records are not my thing at all, but this is ok, and they dont really butcher any songs, they just translate them into the way BTBAM can only do. And I can say, I was more than surprised to listen to how they did it, not the expected brutality that BTBAM is typically known for. Go check it out, this may surprise you, like it did me.
