Melodically inclined and lyrically defined, a new band is putting a twist on the hard in hardcore. On The Last Day has powerful, yet complicated guitar rifts and packs a mean punch when it comes to vocals. The debut album hit shelves late august and I still can't keep it out of my cd player. Front man, Geoff Walker, shows his strong points on the tracks "Meaning in The Static" and "leaving the Citadel". With a voice that meshes with the sounds of AFI or Aiden, he gives a remarkable twist on punk rock gone hardcore. The backdrop guitar, from Justin Johnson and Frank Gross, gives a feel of hardcore mixed with a Thrice sound for extra intensity. While throwing in a non-stop, thrilling punk rock bassist, Aaron Johnson, and punk-pop gone hard vibe from the drummer, Drew Dowell. All this combined into one group gives you a heart-pounding, beat slashing group with the feel of several genres. Now touring, from Texas to Pennsylvania, this underground band seems to have their mind on the road and their heart in the music.
