When I read the name of this band I was unsure what genre they were going to be. "Drop Dead, Casanova" is the third single from their album 'First Aid Kit' and these guys are starting to gain a reputation.
These guys fall into the new "Punk" genre. Not the real punk genre but the new and inoffensive, danceable, catchy, friendly punk that is used these days to refer to bands from Panic! At The Disco to Funeral For a Friend. I thought I'd bring that up as there are loads of websites out there that use the term punk in that generic way. "Drop Dead, Casanova" conforms to all the formulas (infectious hooks, roaring pace and sing-along chorus).
Even though this band have everything required formula wise you can't help but just look at this as an average band due to the severely over saturated market they are aiming for. There's nothing new or inventive here.
This band needs a little something extra to avoid being easily forgotten.
