I don't normally do movie reviews, but my brother works at a movie theatre and I have been taking advantage of the free screenings employees get. I saw Spiderman 3 recently and thought it was a horrible disappointment. Then I saw 28 Weeks Later which was AMAZING, but totally gave me nightmares. So, I decided I would go see Shrek 3 since it wouldn't give me nightmares and was almost guaranteed to be a million times better than Spiderman.

It was. I never saw the second Shrek movie, but this Third one was HILARIOUS. I didn't know the backstory of all the characters, but it didn't matter. It was great! It was so good, I am going to go rent the second one ASAP.

These Shrek movies are kind of an anomaly. How often do animated films score the big name cast of the original and expand on it film to film by adding even more big stars? Not only that, but how often does an animated franchise make it to the third flick without sucking really bad? I'm not much of a movie person, but I think it's probably pretty rare.

I won't get into character breakdowns and all of that niz nozz, I'll just say that the casting was really good and everyone did a great job on the performance. It was all believable (er...you know what I mean), but I do want to make special mention of Amy Poehler, who is always amazing, but was brilliant as Snow White.

This movie was definitely worth the money I didn't pay to see it. I'll most likely go see it again!!!! Don't see Spiderman!!!
