Despite the fact that the title of Marilyn Manson's latest album could be taken as yet another serving of blasphemy it actually has nothing to do with Religion or the lack thereof. It appears that falling in love, getting married, and finally getting divorced has left everyone's favorite anti-christ with a broken heart and on Eat Me Drink Me it shows. This is not the Marilyn Manson we are used to. For one the songs are more mainstream rock and lyrics are...very personal. Manson opens his heart and pours it all over this album and personally I find it refreshing to see a new side of the World's most hated man. Another shining star on this album is Manson guitarist Tim Skold who has forced new life into Manson's music. In doing so he may have helped create the best Marilyn Manson album ever. In addition to adding guitar solos to the songs, Tim has also written songs that force Manson to take different paths with his vocals. Gone are the frenzied screams of hatred and in it's place are emotionally charged vocals. There is no doubt of the pain that comes through in his voice. That being said I do find it somewhat Ironic that it was love that has caused Marilyn Manson to return stronger then ever.
Standout tracks on this album are "If I Was Your Vampire", "Putting Holes In happiness", "Just A Car Crash Away," and "You And Me And the Devil Make 3"
