Not Advised - You’re the designers, we’re the deciders!
Not Advised; 5 piece band from Southampton who class themselves as Pop Punk, Emo, Rock. I’ve seen them live and I wasn’t really impressed by them, they were all over the place. I don’t know if they were just rubbish no matter where and when they play, or it was just that night. When they briefly mentioned that they had an EP coming out soon, I didn’t really think much of it because I didn’t seem to want it if they were that rubbish live.
You’re The Designers, We’re The Deciders is over all ok, they classed themselves as Pop Punk and in my opinion they have got a bit of that in their music, well song. Jack Fairbrother and Ash Oliver did a good job on guitars as I thought they held a good rhythm throughout the song. They did good guitar fills in between the verves and chorus which made the song flow. At one point, it sounded like the whole band was going to turn into a metal band with how the guitar solo started. One thing which lets me down is James’ vocals, in my opinion I don’t think he could hold the notes long enough or didn’t have strong vocal chords to make it sound more powerful.
I think that if they had more songs on the CD, it would have given a better impression on me and other people as well if they didn’t know this was just a one track CD. People want more than one song to listen to by a band and they expect that when purchasing the CD. The music had made this song work and I think the vocals could have been improved before recording this song.
