With a name like Cage The Elephant, you’re almost setting yourself up for a fall unless you can back it up; the name alone conjures up images of something imposing and impressive. Opening track (In one ear) on this 5 song E.P doesn’t disappoint, and it is a great insight into the bands talent, who are quietly gaining a name for themselves in the live environment.
All crashing symbols and fast delivered syllables (an American Alex Turner?), this track is damn good, straight up rock n roll, which The Kings Of Leon would be proud of. The song has got a catchy chorus and gradually descends into an aggressive onslaught guaranteed to get you stomping!

Having been together in various guises for 10 years, the tightness of the band is clearly audible, and something that would surely only be heightened in the live arena. Front man Matt Shultz, really is just that, the front man and it is his vocals that you are drawn to. On Back Against The Wall, his southern drawl sits perfectly on top of the country twang resonating through the guitars. Tiny Little Robots shows glimpses of how hard Cage The Elephant can rock out.

If this album sampler is anything to go by they have a great future.
