This band is no longer a float this is their last record after being a band since 2005 they have decided to part ways in 2008 May 10th was their last show as a band. The Fire The Flood is from Charlotte North Carolina the tunes are far from stellar was it a good thing that they broke up? Let’s find out!!

First track played from the LP “Truth Seekers” is ‘And It Grows Like Weeds’ okay where do I begin! The track’s music is incredible the band is remarkable; the singer has decent screamo vocals going on. A huge problem is diction; the enunciation of the words is nowhere to be found! At first listen it didn’t even sound like English more like German, you cannot understand a word he is saying even if you are reading the lyrics from the CD booklet! Just a bunch of yelling there was no way to decipher any of his jibberish except for the opening sentence and the repetition of the title near the end of the track! The album in itself has very few song variations all of the tracks sound the same they all have pace and key changes in the same places some tracks differ in ending but the core of all the tracks are the same.

Continuing on with the rerun filled LP ‘Truth Seekers’ I noticed how good other bands really were, no wonder these dudes are done they have so much competition from bands with consistency and fluidity. Hoping to find at least one tune that is good enough to praise but the only extol thus far is to the musicians for playing their instruments well, minus the vocals of the singer. The best track on the album is ‘Mudswampers’, far more perspicuity than the others. One thing they did do right is the lyrics, as short and muddled as they were they were diverse. Here’s a line from track three ‘The Wolf Inside Of Me’, “Let the truth become freedom in your eyes, fellow truth seekers open your minds.”

These guys should put out a poetry book rather than a music record. It’s a good thing this band broke up because now maybe the instrumentalists can flourish in new bands with singers who can sing!!

This review seems harsh. From what I have seen these guys offer a lot lyrically and some amazingly furious hardcore moments. Did you rate this so low because you don't like this style of music in general? Also I do believe these guys are a christian band which is something you semmed not to pick up on.

Actually I gave it a two, with this rating system it's a one but that's beside the fact. I find there are better bands in that genre, bands like Hatebreed, Purge D.I, August Burns Red and Bring Me The Horizon. I do listen to the genre as I said the music is good lyrics are good. Vox needs melody with the words there is no structure opinions differ agree to disagree. It could have been worse.

I haven't seen them live therefore I don't know how they bring it on stage, some bands are better live.

Did not know they were a christian band tho something I didn't know good job!! Thanks for the info.

Exactly music is truly the universal language to each their own!! Thank god we have opinions the world would be so boring without! I know mine are too harsh at times but life is harsh esp. the music biz!

Always as honest as I can be without making someone cry, haaha!! Unless of course you piss me off it's on then!! Takes a lot to make me angry but you don't want to light the fuse life is better without drama.

ahhhaaa I am a lover not a fighter! Violence is not the answer!!! At times my bark is worse than my bite but when it comes to life and death situations I will throw it down I will die fighting!! Like I said life is better without drama!! I am not a fan!
