Lykke Li - Youth Novels

I didn’t know what to expect with this band as I never heard of them.

To start off the album, ‘Melodies&Desires’ rhythm is very simple yet effective. Throughout the 3 minute 52 seconds song Lykke does not sing but only speaks making this an unusual but great opener to the album. Track three – ‘I’m Good, I’m Gone’ has a robotic voice in the introduction, this breaks the simple, plain rhythm the first two tracks had which keeps the listeners wanting to hear more.

You can say this album can help you chill after a hard days work with Lykke's effortless voice singing through every song with ease. I find this album relaxing as it nearly put me to sleep. Also my kitten likes this album, sitting on my lap with Lykke Li playing through my laptop. I have never seen him this relaxed.

I think the only criticism I can give this album is, after the first half of the 14 tracks, they do get a bit repetative. It doesn’t differ after that which does disappoint me as I got dragged in with the first couple of songs

If you do want to have a relaxing night and want to put an album on to make you fall asleep then stick this one in your stereo or on your mp3.
