The last 12 months have been weird for me musically. There is an ocean of shit out there and please don't misconstrue this as I mean it in the nicest way. Unfortunately thanks to all the youth, technology and the internet, the worth of music has quickly become negated and to a point music has lost the respect it deserves and that it used to be given. Saying that however, respect has been lost in many other parts of society too but that is something that should be broached on another website and at another time.

10 out of 10 is a rare score to give for a song or an album. 10 out of 10? When is something actually worth a 10? 10 means that NOTHING is better than this and is the equivalent to getting every single answer right on an exam. It turns out that People in Planes are the geeks of the class and in this case are leaving the exam room with an A* - every I dotted every T crossed and every single answer correct.

Pretty Buildings is the first single off their new album and within 10 seconds of listening to this track I am completely overwhelmed by the strength, beauty and intricacy of this band. What makes this more insane than anything is that these are a Welsh band! Probably THE best Welsh band at the moment but other people are content in girating to other Welsh bands that aren't artists of this calibre and aren't writing songs at the quality of People in Planes yet somehow receive a much higher fan count!! WTF is that about?? Well it really goes back to my first point.

I love how Welsh people get behind a band and help support them. However. Where is People in Planes Welsh support? I first heard of this band when I lived in America and since that day Altsounds.com have been promoting these guys as much as we can. As far as I know this band don't even have a UK label at all?? This makes me mad because in all honesty this song is one of the only songs in a VERY long time that really wholeheartedly and truly floats my boat and has finally re-lit my passion for music because it proves there are still real musicians out there, that are making real music, for the right reasons.

The production, the voice and the musicanship of this single are all impecable. The dynamics of the track are as poetic as the lyrics that I am hearing and the music video for the single is very well put together.

If this song were a girl then we would have a very long night ahead of us!!
