Nicole Morier and Legs Le Brock from Los Angeles, California formed an Electro beat, Pop duo – Electrocute. What did I expect from this band? Well…I’ve never heard of them before but as you can probably guess for yourself, their name gives it away. Electro genre? Bingo. Are they any good? Hmm…figure that one out for yourself.

Where do I begin with this EP? I have no idea. The electro, Super Mario-esc beats are sending my mind insane. I think Electrocute have used too much of it. I bet you’re probably thinking, ‘But their genre is Electro!’. I am fully aware of this however, there is only so much high pitch keys you can take before the dogs come running.

‘Aeroplanes’ is, lets say, a remix of Super Mario and creepy fun fair music combined that is executed in a Major scale during which they introduce the songs primary hook just before the chorus. It may sound really interesting reading my description however when you actually hear the song it gets annoying. I think the vocals are to blame here, maybe it’s the effect Electrocute has put on them or the fact they go really high pitched themselves.

I am usually a fan of the electro feel songs but Electrocute do nothing for me. Maybe it’s because they’re not doing anything original and tend to fit into every other band who try out electro pop. Also, the songs are a slightly annoying. All of their songs seem to be repetitive in every way. I do believe you have to be in the right mood to want to listen to Electrocute and that mood won’t swing by very often.

Electrocute are exactly like Marmite, you either love it or hate it.
