You know the kind of music that you really have to be in the mood for? Well KC’s new release is exactly that. If you just want something to put on as background music, then the ‘Ideology EP’ really isn’t for you. The repetitive and limited music alongside the grime influenced vocals and sometimes cringe worthy lyrics have the potential to get really annoying at times so if it’s not been a good day then listening to this EP will probably result in something being thrown/ driven over / into.

However….

If the sun is shining and the vending machine didn’t swallow your money, give this EP a chance. KC just seems to want to do something new in a region that is saturated in guitar orientated bands and good for her for doing something about it. Currently residing in the fringe-tastic South Wales although originally from England, KC has earned your attention as it can be so difficult to start something new musically anywhere in the world, let alone in somewhere like South Wales where the strength of the rock scene just seems to somehow keep gaining momentum.

Upon listening to this five track EP, the standout potential singles of ‘The Sound Of The Police’ and ‘Electro School Bus’ automatically jump out to the listener. Not that the other three tracks are simply fillers, as they each deserve and justify their place on this CD, but these two tracks are the most instantly catchy and memorable.

Having recently done incredibly well in the ‘Road To V’ competion, KC is possibly on a roll and I get the impression that whether you’re on her side or not, we are going to be hearing a lot more about her sometime soon. Is rock dead? Maybe not, as this EP is filled with punk attitude and rock and roll ethics, but KC’s going to have a damn good shot at bringing it down.
